◆◇Sight: A Certain Major Clan’s Clan Master◇◆

My name is Uesaka Toji.

My Stratos ID is Winter.

I am the clan master of Knights of the Stars, one of what people call Japan’s four major clans in Fate Link: Legendia.

“Is this for real…… this newbie.”

An “event quest” had just been issued, so I put out a call for clan members at Highlane’s Stratos Association to take it.

The Association I’d come to was in an uproar, people from all kinds of countries watching monitors showing the combat space.

A beginner with a sprout mark was shooting down 〈Delirium Atlas〉 one after another in a single fighter.

With piloting technique you could call superhuman.

A tough-faced player watching the monitor leans out and yells. Continue reading →

There is a communication-impaired person at Souha Municipal High School.
Who else: me, Suzusaki Suzuhi.

“Ah, it’s the new-student representative.”

“Hih——”

“What’s her name again, Suzu…”
“Suzu……”
“Right, Suzumori-san.”
“Yeah, yeah, Suzumori-san!”

Pointed at by girls in my year, I flee into the classroom and sit in my seat—my territory—like I’m flinching.
Hello, it’s Suzusaki.

“Scary. Why are high school girls that scary? I have no idea what they’re thinking.”

No, not just high school girls—high school boys, middle school girls, middle school boys—actually all humans are scary. Continue reading →

From near the moon’s surface, straight into space.

“Fourth wave, incoming! Danger! Danger! 〈Gorgon〉 approaching!”

A pulsar-type neutron star comes into view in the background.
The neutron star spits flashes from above and below like a raging spinning top.

And before that top appears——a sphere with something like eight tentacles.

From the ends of those rope-like tentacles, as always, it scatters shots in a raging torrent.

Why this stage is called the human graduation exam.
Because the patterns start disappearing.

Of the eight tentacles, six still have patterns, but two move completely at random.
Those random patterns sometimes take a terrifying shape.

——Someone said, “The scariest bullets in a shooting game are the ones that home in on you.” Continue reading →

——Three years.
My uniform has changed.——I had become a high schooler.

From three years ago——nine years in VR time—I have been doing “that quest” the entire time.
Total flight hours: 24,324. Add the time I spent on fighter FPS games and total flight time is over 36,000 hours.

They say a pilot needs about 2,000 flight hours to be called a veteran, so 36,000 is something I can brag about a little.

By the “10,000-hour rule” that says 10,000 hours of anything makes you first-rate, that’s three first-rates?

“Swallow, come!”

I stand in front of the apartment I live in and “shout in a small voice.” Continue reading →
