The day after I went to Tokyo. I started streaming before noon as usual, and immediately tilted my head.

They’re greeting me, but there’s a lot of stuff that clearly isn’t Japanese. English and such. There’s a lot of other stuff too, but I don’t get it. Master only taught me Japanese.

When I turned at the guide’s voice, he was holding something like a red soup. He set it on the table, and it has a slightly unique smell. I can tell from the smell. This is a spicy one.

“Is spicy okay?”
“Mm. Of course.”

I try it with the spoon he brought along. The lots of whitish stuff, is that tofu? When I put it in my mouth, it’s spicier than I expected. Spicier than curry. But I don’t know, it’s the kind of spice you could get used to.
This goes really well with rice too. Delicious.

“Eheh…”

‘Ahh geez what delivery am I even supposed to get!’
‘Just get all of it?’
‘Gyoza and mapo tofu is rough on an old guy’

Ah, so that’s the name of this dish. Um…

Ah, the guide kind of laughed at me. I guess that’s wrong.

I canceled the vanishing magic a little after leaving the venue, but… wow. The surroundings are amazing. I’d heard about it and thought I understood, but seeing it for real is more than I expected.
Skyscrapers left and right. I thought the trees in the forest I live in were pretty big and tall, but this is exactly what they mean by it being presumptuous even to compare.

Quality or not, I am the real one…!
The older girl gave me posing directions, so I just followed those for now. Photos kept getting taken one after another. I don’t know. It’s embarrassing, but this is fun in its own way.
While I was being the subject, even more people gathered. Can I too, me too, and so on. They could just do it on their own. Very proper of them.
But, um, uh… isn’t this too many…?

When I said it so only the stream could hear, replies came right away.

Three days ago, I think? Around then, I asked on stream for the next destination. Asked for recommendations, more than putting out a call.

One of those was a building in the capital, Tokyo. Well, apparently Tokyo has a ton of buildings. I asked Mami about it in a roundabout way and had her look it up, so I already have the exact location.

And today there’s some kind of event, they said. A cosplay event, or something. There are people who cosplay games too, so even in these clothes I shouldn’t stand out much.

I don’t really want to take this robe off. Because this robe has all kinds of magic on it. It’s no exaggeration to say I can go to Earth unprotected because I have this robe.
In short, defensive magic. It should bounce most interference from so-called modern weapons. Probably.
So if I can wear the robe and still not stand out, that’s best.

And so, I am at the event venue now. In the plaza in front of the building, mixed in with people in clothes you don’t see much in Japan. Mixed in, I think.
The place I teleported to was the shade of a tree in the corner of the plaza. Trees are planted around the plaza, so the shade isn’t that conspicuous. When I teleported in I thought someone might catch me, but luckily nobody noticed.

A week since I first went to Earth. Since then, once a day, I’ve been visiting Earth—or rather, Mami’s house. The goal isn’t delicious food. I mean, that’s part of it.

I’m holding both of Chii-chan’s hands, training her to sense mana.
Mami apparently talked to their mom, and we got permission, more or less. More or less meaning she’s half in doubt, or rather, she seems to think it’s that kind of play.
According to Mami, if you suddenly get told it’s magic, that’s the reaction you get.

Even so, permission is permission. So since then, I’ve been teaching Chii-chan a little at a time.
Well, teaching, but it’s only the training to sense mana.
To use magic, the skill of handling mana is required. And to handle it, you have to become able to sense what mana is like.

In other words, what Chii-chan is doing is the very first training for using magic.
And this training is said to be the first, and the greatest, hurdle. According to the Great Spirit, even among people in our world, only one in ten can sense mana.

What I took out of the vinyl bag was two curry buns, one pack of four mitarashi dango, and two of Mami’s homemade onigiri. She’d arranged it so the Great Spirit and I could split it evenly.

“Here, Spirit-sama.”
“Yes. Thank you.”

I hand the Great Spirit a curry bun and an onigiri. All right, let’s eat right away.
I tear the curry bun bag… This bag is amazing too. Isn’t Japan too amazing?
Pakuri, a bite. Hmm…

“There’s no curry…”

‘Ahh… lol’
‘Rita-chan, with store-bought curry buns the filling is sometimes bunched to one side. If you keep eating it’ll come out’

“Huh.”

If I keep munching along, the curry comes out right away. It’s not the gloopy stuff that sits on curry rice, but this is definitely curry. A little on the sweet side, but spicy, and it goes well with the bread. Delicious.

I never thought I’d get to eat katsu curry. It was so, so good. I really want to eat it again. Just imagining it, I might start drooling.

“I saw something called a television too, and that’s amazing. I don’t get how a thing like such a thin board can make pictures move. Science is amazing.”

But it’s true that Earth’s humans made it. I really think it’s amazing. People here definitely couldn’t make it. Science and technology themselves aren’t that developed.

I walk at an easy pace through the forest as it starts to get dark. My destination is the World Tree.
Reaching the World Tree, I immediately called the Great Spirit.

I remember not just from after I was taken in, but up until I was abandoned too.
One reason I can live as a witch is this memory. For a mage, memory is a talent on the same level as handling mana—maybe even more important.

‘The memory is one thing, but Master’s story is what’s surprising lol’
‘Peek-a-boo lmao’
‘That person did stuff like that, huh lol’

He was pretty deredere, I guess. He apparently hadn’t even considered that I’d remember, though.
When I told him that story, his cheek twitched in a really funny way.

With that, Mami stood up.

“Mm? If that’s it, I’ll do it.”
“Eh. Ah, no. That’s really…”
“It’ll be done right away.”

I’ll use cleansing magic, so it’s not a problem. I got treated to katsu curry, even got ice cream, and on top of that going home without doing anything would be wrong, I think.
I take my staff and use cleansing magic. The dishes on the table are wrapped in light for an instant, and become as clean as new.

“Wah… Amazing. Thank you.”
“Mm. Thank you too.”

From the sound of it it seems hard, but maybe it’s easy once you actually do it. The annoying part doesn’t change, though. Meaning she went out of her way to make it.
I look at Mami. She’s smiling.

I heard a small sigh of relief. Was she nervous. It’s not like I’d complain when she’s cooking for me.
All right, next is the curry itself…

‘What was Master’s curry that Rita-chan ate even like…’

“It was brown water on rice.”

‘Just hearing it sounds awful’

No, it was good, so I liked it… But this is completely different. If this is what Master had in mind, I can understand why he called it a failed work.
I put it on the rice and try it. The sharp little spiciness is to my taste.
