“Eh? Mizuki——you didn’t know Yachimata Alice is Isshiki Alice?”
“Isshiki Alice is who?”

Tachibana Mizuki tilted her head.

(Or rather, who are you)

Tachibana Mizuki had bought “natural-water grape juice” from the shop vending machine at Yurigahama South High and was enjoying forest bathing in the woods on school grounds when a classmate whose name she didn’t know called, “Yesterday’s match was amazing!”

“Not knowing Isshiki Alice, that’s so Mizuki~”

They can’t have known each other a month yet, but she was surprised to be told “that’s so you.”
Or rather, why is this person talking to her.
Or rather, what’s her name?
The classmate whose name she doesn’t know seems to like talking, and doesn’t stop. Continue reading →

A chill ran down Alice’s spine.

Alice, leaving it to fear, leapt backward.
A shinai mowed the place Alice had been a moment ago.

Alice could see Tachibana Mizuki cutting her own shadow in two.

She evaded by a hair.
If she hadn’t experienced life-or-death real combat in Fate Link: Legendia, she probably couldn’t even have reacted.

“Fast.”

Tachibana Mizuki murmured and vanished again.

When Alice dodged left on fear, a shinai pierced Alice’s shadow.
But Tachibana Mizuki’s thrust didn’t end there.

The shinai suddenly changed trajectory and came at Alice. Alice tried to evade by a hair, but she stepped on her hakama hem and fell hard. Falling, though, she somehow evaded the shinai.

Alice evaded Tachibana’s vertical swing while rolling further.
Tachibana Mizuki doesn’t pursue.
In kendo you may attack someone who has fallen on their back only once.

Yachimata Alice was riding the Shonan Monorail. A vehicle commonly called the “roller coaster.”

Alice is afraid of heights,——so the Shonan Monorail is Alice’s natural enemy.

“U——uuu……”

There are two reasons Alice is challenging this natural enemy even while gripping the seat rail with a bad color.

One is that she wants to overcome her fear of heights triggering when she moves on the ground in a Versus Frame.

The other is,

“Ah…… that!? Y-Yachimata-san!?”

To meet the socially anxious person she respects, who appeared fidgeting as usual——Suzusaki Suzuhi, Suu.

“G——goo……d morning———!”

Alice’s expression, even while trembling, shines a little.

“Y-Yachimata-san. Riding the monorail, are you okay!?”
“Yes, seeing Suu-san’s face made it better.” Continue reading →

After I told Suu-san’s viewers how amazing what she was doing was, I looked forward.

Grand Harpies swirling in disorder around Maika and the clan members.

Too many enemies.

What a number…… I can’t count them.

Why does Maika have to go through this.

No, it’s my fault.
If I hadn’t gotten angry over one dress…… if we hadn’t fought——if I’d been at Maika’s side like always, the moment I noticed something was wrong we would have withdrawn.

“Please, Maika, don’t die.”

While I prayed with my chest full of regret, Grand Harpies started getting shot down in a strange way.

Suu-san was only firing the 〈Multipurpose Vulcan〉 normally, and even the enemies around the one she shot down burst with it.
Like an area attack.

This…… no way. Continue reading →

While I’m watching happy Pollux and Castor, a comm comes in from the group being attacked by Grand Harpies.

“This is Knights of the Stars (Stellar Ritter) carrier Last Answer. Thanks for the assist. Please reveal your affiliation.”

Eh, my affiliation? ……What would that be——…… I’m a loner, am I affiliated with something?
While I’m facing the philosophical problem of what I belong to when I’ve been a loner the whole time.

“Maika, everyone, are you okay!?”

Yachimata-san checked on her sister and friends.

“……O-Onee-chan!?”
“Ah, that filtered voice is Alice-san! Everyone, we’re okay now! Alice-san came to save us!!”
“Uooooooooh!!”

At the people on the carrier welling with joy, Yachimata-san starts to panic.

“No——Maika, everyone! I didn’t save you——that’s not——……!” Continue reading →

A Wandering Event——an event where enemies above a floor’s danger level show up.
It’s certainly dangerous…… but——there’s no way I can abandon Yachimata-san’s little sister.

I comm Ill-san in secret.

〔Hey, Ill-san.〕
〔Yes, My Master.〕
〔The way the Galactic Union brings humans back, that’s Swampman, right?〕
〔———〕

What comes back from the tiny butler is silence. But I keep going.

〔I know FateLege is incredibly safe, and that if only the frame is destroyed the transfer unit on the seat moves you by wormhole. But the way they revive you when a player dies, see.〕

The butler, who had his eyes shut, opens them quietly and answers.

〔I believe there is regeneration and reconnection of missing parts of the body, and so on.〕
〔That’s not what I mean. If the brain is ruined, or the body is completely dust? Early on I read the revival section FateLege admin put out and I went pale.〕
〔———〕

Silence comes back again, as I thought. Continue reading →

When I say “Come with me” as I climb the ladder, Yachimata-san climbs the ladder too.

When we get to the cockpit, Yachimata-san’s mouth opens in a small “eh.”

“Wasn’t Swallowtail a single-seater?”
“I remodeled it to a two-seater for today. There’s a lie-flat horizontal mode so there wasn’t room front-to-back, so it ended up up-and-down——ah, put on a pilot suit. I’ll try to fly in a way that doesn’t put much G on, but I think there’s a limit.”
“Yes, of course I have one ready.”

Yachimata-san changes into a pilot suit she apparently brought.
A red-like, pink-like suit.
Not an initial suit like the one I use; it looks a little nicer.
But Yachimata-san is wearing only the pilot suit. I tilt my head and ask.

“Huh? You’re not putting clothes on over it?”
“I don’t think there are many people who wear clothes over a pilot suit…… To be honest, unless the fabric is stiff, in space it floats and flutters and gets in the way.”

Yachimata-san looks my clothes, sleeves and skirt all frills, over from bottom to top.

“——You…… fly well, in that.”
“Eh…… is that so!?” Continue reading →

◆◇Sight: Yachimata Alice◇◆

I, Yachimata Alice, am from Britain.

I used to be named Alice Taylor.

The reason I became Yachimata is that after Lydia-okaasan, who gave birth to me, died, Father eloped with my current mother——Yachimata Kagami-san, and became a son-in-law.

I took the Yachimata name as Father’s child from his previous marriage.

I have a little sister.

A girl born between Father and my current mother.

My sister’s name is Maika.
Maika seems proud that I work so many ways—model, actress, voice actress, singer—and she’s very attached to me.
The neighborhood even says there’s no gap to get between the Yachimata sisters.
Some people call us yuri sisters.——We are not that kind of relationship.

That day, though, we fought. Continue reading →

Lunch break on the day I pulled a Close Encounter with Yachimata-san. I’m checking my phone again, too happy.
A voice lands on that me.

“Suzusaki-san! I really, absolutely think you should livestream!”
“Eh, a-a stream is…… no good after all. See, I get stuck when I talk.”

……I posted that video with the sound off, too.

“That’s cute too!”

The one talking to me, who is supposed to be a loner, is somehow Yachimata Alice-san.
By some karma I am eating lunch with Yachimata-san.

I stood up to eat lunch in my usual best place, the hideout under the emergency stairs, and Yachimata-san appeared in my classroom with “Suzusaki-saaan!”

“Let’s eat lunch togetheeer!”

A bomb drop. Continue reading →
