Under a sky heavy with cloud.
Three students in navy uniforms walked side by side.

Charlotte, Natasha, and Lady Ulrika.
Olivia was with them, for good measure.

“First day of school~! I’m so glad~!!”

Today was Lady Ulrika’s first day of school, and her first class.
School bag in hand, she ran around, pattering.

“You there~! Today I take my first class, you know!”

“Ah… is that so…”

“You there! How is my bag? Does it suit me?”

“Yes… I suppose…”

She caught students on the road and pressed talk on them.
She looked like she was having an extraordinary amount of fun.

“Lady Ulrika, please wait! Please calm down!”

Olivia hurried after her.
She somehow succeeded in catching the frolicking Lady Ulrika.

“Here, I’ll give you a cookie, so please be good.”

“Ammmu… crunch, crunch… it’s delicious… crunch, crunch…”

Munching cookies, Lady Ulrika finally settled.

“Ulrika, you look like you’re having so much fun!”

“Yes, but Olivia looks like she’s having a hard time.”

Making a racket, the four of them walked toward the school building.
Just as they were about to arrive, they were suddenly called from behind.

“Hey, you lower-class lot!”

“Yes? What is it?”

Charlotte and Natasha turned.
Where they looked, three students in white uniforms were standing.
One boy student and two girl students.

Noticing the students in white, Lady Ulrika ran over as well.

“Morning! You are… crunch, crunch… not the same class, it seems… crunch, crunch…”

“Hmph. Don’t lump me in with lower class.”

The boy in white spoke, curt.
Tall and slender, a neatly arranged face. Smooth blond hair; he looked every bit a prince.

“You. For lower class, you have quite an attitude.”

“Hmm. Do I? Crunch, crunch…”

“Do you think you can take that attitude with me, the student council president?”

“Even if you say so, I don’t know you. Crunch, crunch…”

“What? You don’t know me?”

“Mm. Not at all!”

Lady Ulrika said it flat.
Then the two girl students raised voices of protest together.

“You! That’s far too rude toward Lord Heinrich!”

“You don’t know Lord Heinrich? And you’re lower class? Unbelievable!”

The girl students squawked, noisy.
The boy called Heinrich raised one hand smoothly and quieted them.

“Calm yourselves. It’s only lower-class talk, after all.”

Then he introduced himself to Lady Ulrika.

“Then I shall name myself to an ignorant girl. My name is Heinrich. I serve as president of the student council of Romulus Academy.”

“Heinrich, is it! I am Ulrika. A pleasure!”

While introducing herself, Lady Ulrika tilted her head.

“By the way, what is a student council?”

“You don’t even know that? As expected of lower class. Your heads are lower class too.”

“I don’t know! Crunch, crunch…”

“Well, fine. I’ll teach you myself, you pitiful girl who knows nothing.”

“Please do! Crunch, crunch…”

Heinrich’s words were thick with spite.
They did not work on Lady Ulrika at all, however.
Cookies crunching, at her usual pace.

“The student council is an autonomous organization of the students of Romulus Academy. Only the most excellent students even among the advanced class are permitted to join. A special organization.”

“Hmm, hmm… crunch, crunch…”

“At Romulus Academy, which values student independence, the student council’s authority is very great. At times it even exceeds that of the teachers. I serve as its president.”

“Hoh, hoh… crunch, crunch…”

“In other words, I am the one who stands at the peak of all students of Romulus Academy… hey! Are you even listening?”

“Of course I was listening. Oops, the last cookie…”

“What is with this girl… does she not understand how amazing I am?”

Heinrich had been speaking with full confidence.
Lady Ulrika’s own pace left him hanging.

“Hmph. Fine. I didn’t come today to explain the student council anyway.”

So saying, Heinrich took a sheet of paper from inside his uniform.

“Now then. To the main issue.”

“That is… what?”

“A notice from the academy to the lower class.”

“A notice? What’s written on it?”

“Curious? Then I’ll read it…”

Heinrich put on a nasty little grin.
Then he read it in a loud voice, so those around could hear as well.

“This year’s lower class: all classes are cancelled!”

“Hoh… all classes cancelled…”

The contents of the notice that had been read.
Dead silence flowed—

“Wha—what did you sa~y!?”

Lady Ulrika’s scream rang through the cloudy sky.
On the first day of school, dark clouds gathered at once.
