“Lady Ulrikaaa!”

Headmaster Neumann flung the door open and burst in.
He spun through the air and landed before Lady Ulrika in a splendid pose.

“Lady Ulrika! I am terribly sorry!!”

“Neumann!”

“For this matter, I apologize from the heart—”

“What is the meaning of this~! Why are classes cancelled~!!”

Lady Ulrika grabbed Headmaster Neumann and swung him around.

“Hiii~! Please let me go~!?”

“Explain properly! Or else I’ll destroy the worl—”

“Lady Ulrika, please let go! Headmaster Neumann will die!!”

“M… muu.”

Soothed by Olivia, Lady Ulrika finally settled.
Her cheeks were puffed, however. She was extremely angry.

“Hahh… hahh… I nearly departed for the land of the dead…”

“Are you all right? Natasha, support him from that side.”

“Yes!”

Swung about by Lady Ulrika, Headmaster Neumann swayed.
Supported by Charlotte and Natasha, he somehow stood.

“Fuu… pardon me…”

“No. More importantly, Headmaster Neumann, there is something I wish to ask.”

“I understand. I shall explain properly.”

Having caught his breath, Headmaster Neumann sat the seven of them in chairs.
It was just like a class scene, with only Headmaster Neumann standing.

“Now then. Being brought suddenly to a place like this, you must be quite bewildered.”

“Bewildered doesn’t cover it! We were told classes are cancelled! We were told there is no teacher! And this is the classroom? Is all of that fact!?”

“Hih!? Th-that matter… regrettably, all of it is fact.”

Headmaster Neumann explained in a trembling voice.

“There are two reasons. The first is a shortage of teachers. In that vampire incident, both culprit and victim were academy teachers. Therefore we are temporarily short of teachers.”

“I see. That’s why a teacher can’t be assigned to the lower class.”

“Nuuu… damn you… vampire…”

“Damn you, vampire… Ulrika is a vampire too…”

Lady Ulrika wore a resentful face.
Natasha let an exasperated voice slip.

“And the second reason?”

“The second is a rather large one. In fact, the school building the lower class was to use has collapsed.”

“Collapsed!? Why would such a thing…?”

“The day after the vampire incident, a large hole had opened in the lower-class school building.”

“A hole? Why a hole…”

“The aftershock of your fight with the vampire, perhaps? From the outer wall through the schoolyard and on to the lower-class school building, it had been gouged out in a circle, cleanly.”

“Nuuu… unforgivable… damn you, vampire…”

Lady Ulrika’s face grew even more resentful.
Charlotte, Olivia, and Natasha, however, tilted their heads. “Huh?”

“That… wouldn’t that be Ulrika’s doing?”

“Mm… mm?”

“Ulrika’s magic then—didn’t it destroy the outer wall and fly toward the school building?”

“From the outer wall to the school building, gouged out in a circle, yes? Ulrika’s magic was black and round…”

“Lady Ulrika… don’t tell me…”

Silence filled the hut.
Then Lady Ulrika stood and shouted.

“My annihilation magic!?”

“Yes… I think it was Ulrika’s magic…”

“Yes… I can’t think of another cause…”

“Lady Ulrika… you destroyed the school building you yourself were to attend…”

“No… so I was the culprit…”

Lady Ulrika crumpled.
Seeing her downcast, Charlotte asked Headmaster Neumann a question.

“Headmaster Neumann, can nothing be done about this situation? Letting us use an empty classroom, or standing a temporary teacher…”

Headmaster Neumann, however, sadly shook his head.

“Regrettably, this decision was the consensus of the faculty council and the student council. The decision has already been handed down.”

“Why such a decision? Because Ulrika broke the school building?”

“That is not it. It seems the faculty council and the student council do not take kindly to Her Highness Princess Charlotte of the lower class having resolved the vampire incident.”

Headmaster Neumann’s explanation continued.

“Her Highness Princess Charlotte has lately been called the Angel of the Sun and is beloved by the citizens. They appear to resent that as well. I think it may be a ‘jab’ at that.”

“That’s all!? For only that, we’re being treated this cruelly?”

“The prejudice against the lower class is greater than one would imagine…”

A heavy silence flowed.
In the midst of that, Olivia quietly raised a hand.

“Um… couldn’t you overturn the decision with Headmaster Neumann’s authority? At this rate Lady Ulrika is so pitiful…”

To Olivia’s question, Headmaster Neumann shook his head again.

“In fact, this time I was excluded from the decision-making…”

“What do you mean? Excluding the headmaster from a decision is strange!”

“I don’t really understand it myself…”

So saying, Headmaster Neumann took a sheet of paper from his breast.

“This is a notice to me. ‘Of late Headmaster Neumann has shown odd behavior such as suddenly leaping through the air, kowtowing before people, and prostrating himself to a little girl. Therefore Headmaster Neumann is judged not to be in a sound mental state. Hence he is excluded from this decision-making.’ That is what it says.”

Headmaster Neumann wore a difficult expression, seriously troubled.
Charlotte, Olivia, and Natasha, for their part, looked as if they understood. “Ah.”
They were remembering Headmaster Neumann’s attitude toward Lady Ulrika.

“At any rate, for those reasons the lower class has lost its classroom and its classes…”

“Uuu~… and it was my first day of school~…”

Hearing the talk, Lady Ulrika began to sniffle.
Her brows drawn, she looked terribly sad.

“I want to go to school properly~”

Lady Ulrika’s lament echoed, hollow, through the hut.
